about human hair wigs..

my sister in law has lupus and is losing her hair. she wanted to get human hair wigs. my boyfriend (it's his sister) wanted to give his hair to his sister and although they pretty much have the same kind of hair and you would never tell the difference i think it would take him a niceee while to grow out long enough to cut and make a wig. and then i was thiking about myself. but here is my question is there a website i could search information about doing that? how we ourselves could use our hair & have it cut for her to use

    Erin gave you a good web site to look into info. But I can tell you that hair has to be at least 10-12 inches long.. plus it takes around 12 ponytails of the length to make on child size wig.. so it would likely be double that for an adult,
