Best material for a wig?

Aside from human hair, what is the next best thing in terms of look, feel and durability in wigs? I am looking to buy a wig for a fun change so I don't want to spend a whole lot but I don't want it to look cheap like a halloween wig. Help, please.

    wigs only come 2 ways.
    1-human hair
    2- synthetic

    Look at what is happening in Brazil – young women with long beautiful hair are getting attacted and held down and having it chopped off and sold for good money.
