My sis had a lace wig and these were the procedures she used…Firstly, I don’t care what anyone says, you MUST use a fortifying shampoo. She went to the drug store and bought Matrix Biolage Fortetherapie Shampoo and Conditioner…Thats the best product to KEEP your unit from tangling.
Now you said her unit is already in a huge knot. Girl…your gonna have to do a bleach bath.
You need, Bleach, ammonia, Shampoo, conditioner, freezer bag and hot boiling water. (I hope the hair is human)
I believe its one gal of hot water with 1/4 cup of CLOROX bleach (must be clorox) put only the hair in the water. take it out and put it in a bowl with warm water. Then add 1/4 cups of ammonia to 4 cups of water. Dip hair in that mixture. Rinse in warm water again. Take the boiling water and put it in a bowl. Put wig in a freezer bag with deep condiontner (soak/submerge it totally) then put the freezer bag in the boiling water. (make sure its zipped) For about 10 mins. Finally wash the conditioner out and gently comb it with a wide tooth comb. Then moisturize it. This method is what professional use and not only does it restore your unit but it will not tangle again.
