people donate their hair. to locks of love. i donated 13 inches about a month ago. they braid your hair then cut off the bride and you send it the address they give you. its a really nice thing to do but its weird to see your hair in the braid when the braid is not on your head.

They come from real people hair and horse hair i knoe CAN you belive it!! when our hair gets a certain length and ou want to get it cut off they let you if you want to donate it to the wig company!
human hair wigs come from people who cut thier hair and donate it to a program called locks of love. the hair donated has to be like a foot long so they have to cut a foot off the person’s hair. locks of love is for people with cancer who lose thier hair. i would donate some of my hair but my hair’s not long enough.

People sell their hair. People, Locks of Love makes wigs for cancer patients…not for just anyone.
well first sumone is wrong about the horse hair lmao its synthetic and secondly it can come from various places many people donate there hair or sell it, I also know that many Mannequin heads (for cosmetology students) are made from real human hair debra mannequin,Miss Barbra blond lol etc
I know am about to really upset some people but virgin hair is the only type of hair that can be used in a human hair wig. Virgin hair is hair that in chemically untreated (no perms, color, etc.) The hair also has to be a minimum of 10 inches long to go into a wig. Alot of people think there hair was donated to "Locks of Love" and they disqualify it once they recieve it. Sometimes it is disqualified before it leaves the salon. The majority of human hair wigs do not come from "Locks of Love" Most come from foreigners who grow there hair and sell it for a living.
Pigs. Just kidding! Usually, very poor women with lice in third-world countries. They get shaved bald and paid a few dollars. Then, they grow their hair again and shave it and sell it.
