    get a life.

  4. Alexandra says:

because it’s difficult for afro-hair to grow longer in most cases.

  5. brooklynbornson says:

Please don’t classify a "fashion trend" with "Afro Americans" and by the way if you watch an episode or two of Americas Next Top Model you will see that Alot of women partake in this fashion cue not just black ones. I am a guy and even I know better than that !

  6. Tyetye says:

A wig is something you put on and take off daily, therefor it is not glued. Now a hair weave can be glued to make the hair look longer or for a different style. It is applied with speacial hair glue. But remember WHITE women do the same thing, you just don’t think so because most people assume WHITE women always have long hair. NOT!

  7. Augie says:

I have never heard of anyone glueing a wig to their head! Except that show with David Spade where the wig grew on!

  8. jackieleacollins says:

the same reason we perm, straighten, bleach, color ,etc. white
people’s hair. To make it look good. By the way, white people do use extensions glued into their hair also.

    lol

  10. rockyboy30000 says:

    Because….. they just do.

  11. jeminiwitch says:

My grandmother wore wigs for 60 years, glued them on with spirit gum and died bald. She was caucasian.
She also tried to be a pretty lady all her life and blend in with the norm of each decade.
What the heck is freaky about that?

  12. emily351982 says:

white women(and i imagine some men too) get extensions and things. you gotta think of cancer patients and women/men who have thinning hair, too. i don’t think it’s strictly african american women.

  13. Tony s says:

no comment i just had to laugh to the 8th question.lol

Another failed attempt at masking racism with a stupid question.

  15. smervy says:

Why do you pick on "African American"
You are asking questions that really stupid
    and racist.
Look in the mirror and ask yourself
    "What is wrong with me?"
I know it is a lot. Fix yourself up first before
    you find faults in others!

  16. sassikatz04 says:

"GLUE"???? Its called weaves, extentions, even some white people have it done, and for different reasons, you are way too harsh, geez!!!

  17. secondsamuel1617@verizon.net says:

Some do it because they want to enhance the beauty of there hair.Others because it is stylish,it give them a different look, they just plan look good.Other feel as long as they buy it it’s there’s.They all have that option.Whether they wear a weave or extension OR a plan old wig,African American women are beautiful.Nothing freaky about that.

  18. JUICY says:

Uh, no…that’s the stupidest question on here yet. All that wigs and weave came from Europe. Where Caucasions live. OOOO….

Plus, it different. You want short hair one day, then long hair the next. Its great, but I prefer natural.

  19. Solo says:

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers!! Oh, I was supposed to answer the question… Umm.. It looks nicer.

  20. elvee13 says:

so the wigs don’t fall off preventing yet another comedic moment

  21. brantibrooks1 says:

Probably for the same reason Middle Aged bald men do. It makes them feel better about themselves.

  22. monalisa says:

because their own hair is really thin. And it is often "sewn": in

  23. luvitiam says:

Seems like most people that answered this question is right. It’s a choice whether or not one wants extensions. It is for anyone, not just African Americans. Didn’t you see Teri from Desperate Housewife auction off a piece of her extensions last week? I hope you weren’t trying to be cruel. Because African Americans are beautiful human beings just like everyone else. God love us all. Caucasians lay out in the sun to get darker, nothing wrong with that! It’s a personal choice what one does with their body.

  24. spagetti7 says:

I hope by reading some of these answers you realize that not only African American women but women period use hair extentions and maybe you sould go to a beauty shop and try it and you will look so good you will understand why

  25. Butch b says:

cuz ther hairs ugly when they get old o.o

  26. Dream Reacher says:

Hey you! Get real … women, men, race considered or not, all do and will continue to do stupid things in an effort to be more appealing and thereby score … proliferation of the race as Dynamica says.

  27. sayithere2004buddy says:

I wont be mean about this I’ll just answer the question assuming that you really just dont know.
Its not just AA its just about every race of people.
It is not a wig it is an extension or hair piece
and they do it for the same reason that other men and women do it, they feel that it enhances their looks.
Maybe they had a bad hair cut, maybe they lost their hair somehow due to sickness or for any reason, maybe its male pattern baldness.
It just makes people feel better.Thats not freaky really, just different.

  28. avid reader says:

.I won`t dignify your ques. with an answer, but I will Ditto all of the other intelligent answers given here, Ditto, ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto!!!

  29. Lee s says:

    it’s a cutural thing.

  30. VIIKY says:

It might be because they use so much chemical treatments that make them loose their hair.

  31. rahul s says:

must be fashion or they have super glue in excess

  32. sassylady1262 says:

i guess they don’t have anything to wear .lol really ,i don’t know know maybe they do it 4 fun…lol

  33. Viktor says:

Why do you think they do this?

  34. gravelgertiesgems says:

For that matter, why do so many women period relate to fake hair be supplanted in their natural tresses. White women love falls and hair spray, black women love wigs and tracks, asian women love perms and dyes, and hispanic women love dye jobs. I think it all revolves around the freedom to change your appearance. It seems to give African American women an attitude of aloofness and seems to empoower them, like nothing I’ve ever seen.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder – They see themselves as empowered with great looks, just by adding extensions or weaves. Hey, to each his own.

  35. sunshine_12 says:

I saw an episode of newlyweds where Jesssica Simpson had extensions in her hair as well. So stop being such a racist because anybody can weave, glue, etc extra hair if it makes them feel beautiful who are you to judge.
